About our villa

The entrance into the beautiful Casa Valderrama

Nestling among the pine trees covering the exclusive peninsula of the Punta de la Mona overlooking the village of La Herradura with its horseshoe shaped bay this luxurious villa offers spacious accommodation, stunning views of the bay, sea and mountains, private pool plus large 8 seat hot tub/spa . Sun terraces on three levels, with sun beds, sun shades etc... Games room with pool, snooker and darts. Full size table tennis situated in the garage. Beautiful location. Only 10 minutes walk to beach and village.


Sleeping for up to 10 guests in 5 bedrooms, all fully air-conditioned. Four of our bedrooms have ensuite facilities and the 5th bedroom is adjacent to the family shower room and W.C. 


Free Fibre Optic Wifi is available and covers most of the villa.


Parking for two cars adjacent to the villa and level access to the main ground floor living area.

Remember to pack a pair of binoculars to keep a look out for a pod of Dolphins playing in the Bay.

Sight Seeing.

The nearest beach is in La Herradura village - about 10/15 minutes walk down and 20 minutes back up to the villa. Only 5 minutes by car. Marina del Este is also only 15 minutes walk or 5 minutes by car.


Many other beaches are within easy reach - small secluded coves, naturist or large public beaches with all facilities. At Almunecar, about 5 kilometres east of La Herradura are many shops, beaches, plus water park open in high summer. The beach at La Herradura has a young children's play area.

There are two larger towns either side of La Herradura. Almunecar, 5 Kilometres to the East, and Nerja about 15 minute drive to the west. Both offer many shops, bars and restaurants.


The city of Granada and the word famous Alhambra Palace is an hours drive north as are the stunning Sierra Nevada Mountains with skiing available in the winter. Near Nerja are the famous caves boasting the world's largest stalagmite/stalagtite column and caverns.

La Herradura is an old Spanish fishing village, remarkably unspoilt by modern trends and developments. It boasts a large horseshoe bay and strong Moorish influence in the architecture of the 'old town' area of the village. Popular with Spanish and Northern European tourists alike, and retaining its charm and culture, it must have a claim to be one of Spain's best kept secrets !


You will be spoilt for choice the village has many many bars, beach bars and restaurants.


The municipal market - Paseo Andres Segovia, for fresh foods and flowers.

Open Monday - Saturday 09.00 - 14.00.


La Herradura has two wonderful bakeries where fresh bread is baked daily on the premises. A morning visit to buy fresh bread to enjoy with breakfast is a must !


The local Newsagent in the village supplies daily papers from all round the world.


A couple of Chemist - Farmacia etc can be  found in the village and do speak reasonable English.

La Herradura is one of the most popular places for Parapente or Hang-gliding. 


Horse Riding is available in Almunecar.


Cycle Hire is available in the Village.


Tennis Courts are located at Club de Tenis Las Palomas, La Herradura.






We have two Golf Courses within a 30 minute drive away.


Club de Golf Los Moriscos at Motril, Granada.

A links golf course with 18 holes.

Do not forget the locals still take a siesta during the hours of 14.00 - 17.00.

La Herradura is probably best known for its watersports .


Available for rent off the beach you will find wind surfers. wake board, canoes, and kayaks etc.


Diving - the area around La Herradura is know for its spectacular beauty, the cliffs. The nature reserves are found around Maro and Cerro Gordo, the unique landscape where the natural park of Sierra de la Almijara meets the sea. These are all visually stunning, but what many people don't realise is that what lies beneath the sea  is equally as stunning. Under the La Herradura bay and around its two points, you will discover mysterious under water caves that are home to species not normally found at such shallow depths. These are very rare and colourful plants and animals are a true sight to be seen. Some of the best known diving spots are - the Cerro Gordo Caves, the Cantarrijan Grottos, El Canuelo, El Desfiladero, La Punta de la Mona, Piers Atlas, La Calita and Los Gigantes. Flexible on arrival/departure days. 

Since  2020 we operate a no same day change overs so our cleaners have plenty of time to clean and disinfect the villa before our next guest arrive. This also allows for early check in and late departures.


All our prices are for 7 nights.

Rental fees include cost of preparing the villa, provision of fresh bedding, towels, beach towels and final clean at the end of holiday.

Booking conditions for Casa Valderrama.

Making your booking


When you book the property with us you should return the completed booking form together with your Paypal payment for the initial deposit. Please note that the initial deposit is only refundable if you cancel your booking within 7 days of receiving our written confirmation of your booking.


Once the completed booking form and the initial deposit have been received and accepted by us, we will issue you with our written confirmation. The contract between us will only be formed when we send you our written confirmation and is subject to these terms and confirmation.


You should carefully check the details of our written confirmation and inform us immediately of any errors or omissions.



Paying for your booking


You are required to send to us your payment for the the balance of the rental at least 8 weeks prior to the arrival date as set out in our written confirmation. If you fail to make a payment due to us in full and on time we may treat your booking as cancelled by you. Payments are invoiced through Paypal.


A security deposit of £500. (five hundred pounds sterling) is payable before arrival which is refunded in full if there is no damage (less any additional electric costs) This can take up to 7 days. Electricity costs are charged at 0.26 pence per KWH unit used over and above the allowance of the first £40 pounds (250 units) per week. Meter readings will be agreed with you both when you arrive and leave.



If you cancel or amend your booking.


If you need to cancel or amend your booking you must telephone us on the number shown on our written confirmation as soon as possible.


You will also be required to confirm your cancellation in writing or by email to the addresses shown on our written confirmation as soon as possible.


If you cancel your booking within 7 days of receiving our written confirmation, we will refund the balance of any money you have paid us. After such period, if you cancel your booking more than 8 weeks prior to the arrival date, we will retain the initial deposit.


If you cancel your booking less than 8 weeks prior to the arrival date, we reserve the right to charge the initial deposit and the rental. In these circumstances we will only refund the rental (less any additional cost incurred) to you if we are able to secure an alternative booking for the property. 



If we cancel or amend your booking


We would not expect to have to make any changes to your booking, but sometimes problems occur and we do have to make alterations or, very occasionally, cancel bookings.


If this does happen, we will contact you as soon as is reasonably practical and inform you of the cancellation  or the change to your booking and, if it is necessary to cancel your booking, we will refund the balance of any money you have paid to us.



Your Accommodation.




Since Covid 19 we no longer have same day turn arounds.




If your arrival will be delayed, you must contact the person whose details are given on our booking confirmation so that alternative arrangements can be made. If you fail to do so you may not be able to gain access to the property. If you fail to arrive by mid-day on the day after the arrival date and you do not advise the contact of your anticipated late arrival we may treat the booking as having been cancelled by you.



Your obligations


You agree to comply with the terms and conditions set out in this document and the property manual and any other regulations reasonably made from time to time, and ensure that they are observed by all members of your party.


You agree to keep and leave the property and its equipment and furnishings, including kitchen equipment, crockery, glasses etc, in a clean and good condition.


You agree not to cause any damage to the walls, floors, doors or windows or any equipment, furniture or fixtures and fittings in the property, nor to do anything that may be reasonably considered to cause a nuisance or annoyance to any occupier of adjoining or neighbouring areas after 12 midnight.


You agree to take all necessary steps to safeguard your personal property and you understand and agree that no liability to you is accepted in respect of damage to or loss of such property.


You agree to ensure that each member of your party is covered by comprehensive travel insurance (including cancellation, flight delays, loss and damage to baggage and other property) and health insurance (including evacuation and repatriation coverage).


You agree not to allow more people to stay in the property than are detailed in your booking contract, nor significantly change the make up of the party during your stay in the property, nor can you take your pet into the property unless it has been arranged in advance and it is shown on your confirmation. If you do so, we can refuse to hand over the property to you, or can require you to leave it. We will treat any of these circumstances as a cancellation of the booking by you.


You agree to allow us or any representative appointed by us, access to the villa at any reasonable time during your stay for the purpose of inspection, the watering and care of plants, maintenance and cleaning of swimming pool, spa and other equipment , and the completion of any essential repairs.



Complaints


Every effort has been made to ensure that you have an enjoyable and memorable holiday. If however, you have any cause for complaint it is important that remedial action is taken as soon as possible.



Law


The contract between you and us is governed by the law of England and Wales and we both agree that any dispute, matter or other issue which arises between us will be dealt with by the Courts of England and Wales.



Extra costs may be incurred if more linen is used or the villa is left in a particularly dirty state. An extra cost of  30 euros is payable for a late check in between 8pm and midnight, after midnight 125 euros. The total of the above costs, plus the cost of any damages or losses will be deducted from your security deposit. The balance will be returned to you within 7 days.
